CHAPTER'S HISTORY

In August 2001, seven individuals gathered in Conway, South Carolina, to establish the first Buffalo Soldiers of South Carolina Motorcycle Club, becoming the 18th chapter of the National Association of Buffalo Soldiers and Troopers Motorcycle Clubs (NABSTMC™). The founding members of this chapter are William Floyd, Thurman Gause, Caleb Snow, June Edwards, Lloyd Sherman, Anthony Williams, and Ed McKenny.

The chapter is dedicated to providing assistance to citizens in the eight counties where our members reside. It has offered a wide range of community services, activities, and monetary donations amounting to several thousand dollars to various organizations and families. Some of the recipients include Hardee Boys Home, Waccamaw Children's Home, Central Children's Home, Dillon County Partnership for Kids, Marion County Christmas Project, McLeod Children's Hospital, Criterion Recreation Center, W.R. Saffold St. Community Resource Center, Friends & Alumni Palmetto High School Scholarship Fund, American Red Cross, Naomi Project, Orangeburg Area Boys and Girls Club, and Turner and Caraway Foundation.

Additionally, the chapter supports several specific initiatives, such as the Back-to-School Project, Lake City Scholarship, BTU Rest Home, Creek Bridge High School, Success Academy at Palmetto Education Center, Greenwood, McCormick, North Vista Elementary School, and Harvest Hope Food Bank in Florence. The chapter also contributes to the Manna House's food pantries and is committed to educating the public about the history of the Buffalo Soldiers in churches and day care centers, while participating in local charity rides and parades.

The mission of NABSTMC is to make a positive impact in our communities and serve as role models for our youth and others around us. We believe in helping to shape tomorrow's leaders today. The NABSTMC prioritizes education and emphasizes "Good in the Hood."

In recognition of its dedication and service to the community, the Florence Chapter received the Outstanding Medium Chapter Award for Outstanding Achievement and Community Service Involvement in 2015 from the National Association.

ONE CLUB, ONE PATCH, ONE MINDSET.
